To create my images I used some silver wrapping paper for the background, nail varnish, bracelets, make-up and fake flowers.

I like this image the best out all the images just because of  the colours and the depth of field. I put more contrast on the image so that the shadows and colour would show up more.

For these shoots we had three lights and backgrounds. We had a mirror with one of the lights to get the reflection in the image. On another table we had gel colours over the lights to get different colours on the background. On the third table we had the lights deflected to create the darkness.

This image stood out to me as my best image because of the colour and reflection. I had to straighten the image in Photoshop as the horizon line was not straight. Overall I love the image and think the clearness make this image work perfectly. The only thing I don't like about this image is the reflection in the perfume bottle it's self.

Human

Research

We were given a few photographers to look up and out of all of them the only one that stood out to me was Lucas Samaras. By manipulating the wet dyes in Polaroid photographic film he created what he calls "Photo-Transformations".

For my images I want to focus on one part of the body, as Samaras does. I concentrated on the head and face. I want to create something simular to Samaras but using images from my digital SLR and photoshop.

Edits

This is the first image I created, I tried to make a painted portrait effect but adding weird differences to the face. To create this effect I used photoshop and a setting called liquify making it easy to move the skin around. I had drawing tablet connected to the mac computer to make it easier to create these images.

To create the second image I used liquify again but created a more modern art effect. I made more of a design on the model's skin creating a tattoo like design.

Using liquify again I created two images similar in effect. I decided to leave the mouth and tongue natural, pushing the skin in an outward line to create this spike effect. I used a large brush size for the first image and a small brush size for the second. I decided to do two images because I wasn't sure which looked better. Leaving the mouth and tongue in focus draws the viewer's eye to it and then makes you look more at the image. The first image is more messy but I like it because you can see the spikes more as they are more obvious. Whereas the second image is more neat and tighter together with the spikes so I also like this one. The only thing I don't like it is that you can't really see the spikes as well.

For this last one I just went mad with the pen making lots of different marks moving the model's skin around a lot and just leaving her eyes unmanipulated. This one is a more arty effect as well because the eyes are normal it makes her stare more obvious, like she is connecting with the viewer from behind her hand.

I have chosen this image because it is the most effective to what I wanted to achieve. It is also vey interesting and futuristic. The colour palette is natural and organic keeping it natural to the viewer's eye. I stretched the eye make-up around the eye to create part of a circle. I think this one relates more to Samaras as his images are very arty and  look very weird and unusual. This image draws the veiwer in because of the eye being in focus and looks like the model is staring out at you.
